Similar to the individual portrait the Family or Group portrait is anything other than just a scaled up version.
Groups bring multiple other issues, the size of the group being the main one. Our main studio can accommodate a sitting of up to 12-13 when posed carefully maybe a few more if there are small children in attendance too. The size of the group increases the complexity of the lighting required to achieve a balanced exposure over the range of subjects in the shot and of course a group of 12-13 don't blink all at the same time !!

Our family photography sessions are relaxed and designed around your family.
Larger Families Welcome
Our main studio can comfortably accommodate larger family groups, typically up to around 12–13 people, and potentially more where younger children are included and the group can be arranged appropriately.
Photographing a larger family requires considerably more than simply fitting everyone into the frame. Lighting, positioning, expressions and the inevitable closed eyes all have to come together.
That's where professional experience matters.
Family & Group Studio Session — £200
Our family and group portrait session for groups of over 5 persons lasts approximately 90 - 120 minutes and includes a complimentary professionally printed and card-mounted 10" × 8" photograph.
Prefer the Outdoors ?
Family photography doesn't have to take place in a studio.
We can also create relaxed portraits outdoors and on location, giving children room to explore and allowing us to create a completely different style of imagery.
Outdoor family and group sessions are individually priced according to your requirements and location.

We have also even produced a family portrait of 13 people in two different sittings at our studio and a 3rd sitting undertaken by a studio photographer in Australia. Can you tell who was present at each sitting ?
The large family portrait normally now turns out to be a blend of the science of photography and a mastery of digital imaging software to produce the results you want.
For 5 or more family members A one and a half hour studio sitting including 5 fully edited and print licence is just £200
Outdoor Family and Group Portraits are priced on a bespoke basis Please contact us with your requirements
We know that sometimes a family portrait or individual portraits may not be as commemorative as a wedding, christening or newborn session so For our portrait service we are happy to offer a two tier print pricing schedule.
Our normal print service offers a good quality print finish at a sensible pricing point while our bespoke printing service offers a superior professional print. You can of course decide to mix and match between the two especially if you wish to showcase one particular favoured image.
